It's located just 700 feet from govetts leap. Fumo, where you can eat, is a short walk to the hotel...

Cosy fireplace in the winter, friendly staff. Bring a bottle of wine or port to sip by the fireplace. The view from the breakfast room was a wonderful way to start the day
Room needed to be warmed with a little fan heater which although it did work, seemed potentially a bit hazardous, especially when noting the burn marks in the carpet. Despite this it was a comfortable stay

Hostess was great, very polite and attentive.
Despite being fully booked, it still seemed very quiet and empty, which could be good depending on what you are after. I would have personally liked a bit more atmosphere.

Many thanks to Katherine for her hospitality and patience. The breakfast is great and atmospheric.
Room No. 8 may be too compact for two persons with luggages.

Pleasant and helpful operator (Katherine). Basic but comfortable room. Dinner good but not sensational.

The breakfast and the lovely old fireplace saves this guesthouse as the premises is run-down.
Our group stayed in the family room and a double room and both bathrooms were a real turn off with mould between every tile and nowhere to hang a towel in the family bathroom.

We loved the warm welcome, and nothing seemed too much trouble. Glenella is comfortable and relaxed - we particularly appreciated the log fire on the cold, miserable day we arrived!. And the electric blanket was just bliss! As we were travelling with our daughter, the interconnecting rooms/bathroom were really convenient. We also liked the period details and furnishings. The The location is excellent both for Blackheath and other sights in the Blue Mountains. We really enjoyed our stay.
The weather was very poor when we first arrived, and remained rather cool and foggy. Our bedrooms were soon comfy and warm with the electric blankets and reverse aircon, but the bathroom remained chilly and uninviting as there was no heat source - though in all other respects it was fine, with nice fittings, towels etc. I guess we were just unlucky - it wasn't a big deal.

I had a wonderful stay at Glenella. The service was excellent, everybody was friendly, hospitable and helpful, room was clean and comfortable. I am not fond of cliches, but in this case, I really did 'arrive as a stranger and leave as a friend'. The location is convenient too - out of the mini-metropolis of Katoomba, but only a short drive away. The hosts have excellent knowledge of the area and I got great advice on things to do, where to eat, etc. Highy recommended!
It was impossible not to like everything about it.
